SEATTLE — High school football fans in Washington can expect to see blue flags for fouls instead of yellow ones this week.

For the second year, game officials for state's prep football games will use blue penalty flags Thursday through Saturday in recognition of Prostate Cancer Awareness Month.

Washington Officials Association commissioner Todd Stordahl says it's a way to bring awareness to a disease that affects many lives, including some who will be throwing the flags.

According to the Prostate Cancer Foundation, it's the most common non-skin cancer in the United States, affecting one in six men.

The foundation stays more than 192,000 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer this year, and more than 27,000 men will die from it.
