Mark Morris forward Rayna Murphy and defender Kelci DuBois earned first-team honors for girls soccer in the Greater St. Helens 2A League following a recent vote of the league’s coaches.
Also named to the first team were Hockinson defenders Emily Allison and Samantha Ortman, midfielders Tori Sitzman and Rebecca Bell, and forward Julianne Steele; Ridgefield defender Shelby Williams, and midfielders Morgan Atchley and Amanda Coulimore; and Washougal forward Karen Tanner.
Second-team picks included MM forward Maddie White and defender Courtney Teeters, R.A. Long defender Alison Kolberg and Woodland defender Paige Bosen.
Honorable mention selections included RAL goalkeeper Sadie Petersen, and defenders Averie Bogner and Christina McDonald; Woodland midfielder Kelsey Melnick and defender Caitlynn Cordrey; and MM midfielders Shilah Nickerson and Maddie Tilton, goalkeeper Kaytlin Ingman and wing Porsche Yates.
Washougal freshman Emily Boon was named the league’s Offensive Player of the Year, and Hockinson’s Ashley Hayden was the Defensive MVP. Hockinson’s Joey Fleming was named the league’s Coach of the Year.
Rockets, ’Nooks named to 1A Trico soccer first team
Two Castle Rock players and one from Kalama have been named first-team all-league for SWW 1A Trico girls soccer by the league’s coaches.
First-teamers are CR defender Jacquelyn Dent and midfielder Alyssa Hensley; Kalama goalkeeper Ashley VanRiper; White Salmon defenders Katie Yarnell and Sandra Guzman, midfielder Lindsey Scott and offensive player Karina Barajas; and La Center midfielders Jocelyn Burgess and Melanie Hodge, offensive player Stephanie Raley and defender Sydney Wise.
Second-team picks included CR defender Miranda Meredith and offensive player Ulla WillRodt, and honorable mention selections include Kalama midfielder Emily White and offensive player Tiffany Ruppaner.
Laurel Huth of White Salmon was named the league’s Offensive Player of the Year, La Center’s Hannah Trigg earned Defensive Player of the Year, and Amy Kasenga of White Salmon was named Coach of the Year.
Castle Rock and White Salmon shared the Sportsmanship Award.
Four T/W United players garner all-league honors
Four members of the Toledo/Winlock United girls soccer team earned first team in the SWW 1A Evergreen League after a recent vote of the league’s coaches.
United seniors Tiffany Tornow (forward), Brittany Hope (midfielder), Lia Lucas (goalkeeper) and junior Kylee Harlan (defender) were joined on the first team by Montesano midfielders Michaela Ecklund and Elissa Mendenhall, forward Ashlyn Crossan and defender Miranda Smith; Napavine forward Elaun Sherwood, defender Ali Brossard and midfielder Lacey Morris; and Ocosta defender Jenny Benn.
United players named to the second team were midfielders Emma Luhn and Brianna Votaw, forward Mercy Crocker and defender Tyra Boone.
Montesano dominated the league’s Most Valuable Player honors. Ali Ohashi was named league MVP, Sydney Bullington was the Offensive MVP and Becca Lane earned Defensive MVP. Montesano’s Jeff Lenherr was named the league’s Coach of the Year, and Forks received the Sportsmanship Award.
Tigers’ Jolma named to L-C volleyball second team
Clatskanie senior middle hitter Katherine Jolma was selected to the second team for Lewis and Clark 3A League volleyball by the league’s coaches.
Rainier junior outside hitter Amanda Schwegler was an honorable mention pick.
First-team selections were Catlin Gabel outside hitter McKensie Mickler and setter Leslie Nelson, Oregon Episcopal setter Sandhya Bhasker, defensive specialist/libero Heather Schosnig of Portland Adventist, and Warrenton all-around player Brooklyn Campbell.
Middle blocker Jami Olerich of Portland Adventist was named the league’s Player of the Year, and Joe Kim of Portland Adventist was the Coach of the Year.
Laney, Tarabochia collect all-Pacific volleyball honors
A pair of girls named Nicole from Naselle — Laney and Tarabochia — earned all-Pacific 2B League honors in volleyball after a recent vote of the league’s coaches.
Nicole Laney made the league’s first team, and Nicole Tarabochia earned honorable mention.
Rounding out the league’s first team were South Bend’s Kelsey Staats, Vanessa Samplawski and Brenda Yi, Ocosta’s Daynah Harris, Alyssa Andring and Shelby Pase, Ellianna Isoz of Northwest Christian, Raymond’s Hannah Rhodes and Nicole Miller of Willapa Valley.
Northwest Christian’s Erica Edwards was the league’s Most Valuable Player, Pat Bowker of league champ Northwest Christian was named Coach of the Year, and Willapa Valley received the league Sportsmanship Award.
