Tantamount to treason
I love God, my country and the president. America, love it or leave it. If you don’t love our president, you have options. Criticizing the president during a time of two wars like Fox “News” does is tantamount to treason. Are we united against terrorism or aren’t we?
During the Bush years, criticizing the president was like sleeping with the enemy. Why is it so different now? Racism? Hypocrisy?
How can a news network be against health care reform? How can they be “no spin” when they’re pushing an agenda? People dying for no other reason than being poor has been a bad value since Edward M. Kennedy wrote “In Critical Condition: The Crisis in America’s Health Care” in 1972. Let’s have some praise for a man with the guts to deal with a problem so long ignored.
I saw Sean Hannity claim that an elementary school teacher was forcing her students to sing Obama’s praises against their will in a cult-like, brainwashing manner. If it sounds too stupid to be true, it probably is.
When I watch it seems like a telethon, infomercial, public TV fund drive that never ends. When is the 800 number going to come up so I can contribute and make them shut up? I expect Jerry Lewis to come out and tell me they’ve cured Muscular Dystrophy.

A kitty left behind
The people who moved out and left that beautiful kitty behind ought to know that she sits there quietly, patiently waiting for the family to come home.
She misses the warmth, the filled food dish, the fresh water, the safety, the kind stroke of a hand while she purrs. The dogs couldn’t get her, she didn’t have to worry about being attacked by other cats who are wild. The raccoons and possums wouldn’t bother her in her home with her folks. There was no danger of wandering, getting run over while she looks for food. Where are they?
She goes from sitting in front of the garage doors to waiting by the front door. Just sitting, wishing, wondering why, lonely.
She’s there in case the family was wondering.

A choice?
At some point in time, each of us is given the opportunity to express our sexuality to ourselves and the world, so to speak. Generally, there are two ways of doing this.
We can announce our sexual role as one of respectability, acceptability, legally protected, encouraged and thoroughly welcomed by the general public.
Or we can surreptitiously claim a life of ridicule, hatefulness, mistrust, less than legally covered and derided by a majority of our human counterparts.
Which one would you choose?

Is prison an option?
Do you suppose if I went to prison, I could get a flu shot?

Parents beware
Is everyone aware that our children at the Longview high schools are losing 20 minutes once a week (that’s 80 minutes a month taken away from our children’s education) so that teachers can have meetings? After talking to the Longview School District, this is not a budget cut, it is a teacher’s contract.
I would really like to know what early dismissals and late arrivals are supposed to be used for. Also, what about those days our children don’t have school because of teachers in-service days? What are these days used for?
I really feel that there has been so many cuts already that taking these extra precious minutes away from our kids’ education is not OK, as I think many unaware parents would agree.
