ABERDEEN, Wash. — A man who says he has dragged a 12-foot cross from Longview, Texas, expects to reach his destination late Tuesday or early Wednesday back home in Aberdeen.
Thirty-nine-year-old James Strickland says he has a troubled past that includes drug use, run-ins with the law and falling out with his family.
He was praying about his problems when he received a message to start walking on a journey of renewal. The trip began in May and took him through Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, Utah and Idaho.
The cross rolls on two wheels with his belongings tied near the bottom.
In Aberdeen he hopes to reconcile with the mother of his two young children.
Capt. John Green told KXRO he also has several misdemeanor warrants to clear up with police.
