TERREBONNE, Ore. — A Terrebonne man has been accused of neglecting and mistreating his paralyzed wife.
Authorities say 58-year-old Paul Meyer fed 57-year-old Sandra Meyer only once a day or less.
An affidavit says she had bedsores, and her fingernails had grown so long they were curled.
The affidavit says she was diagnosed with an autoimmune syndrome in January. It says she told officials her husband refused to get medical care or let her use a cell phone to call for help.
A relative called authorities. Meyer was indicted Wednesday.
His wife has been hospitalized, and the Department of Human Services said it would find care for her.
Authorities say the husband told them he was overwhelmed by the amount of care his wife needed.
