Oregon and Washington fish managers set several Columbia River gillnet seasons during a meeting Tuesday (Sept. 22).
Gillnetting will be allowed from 9 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday and from 9 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday from Bonneville Dam downstream to the Lewis River.
Downstream of the Lewis, commercial fishing will be allowed from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday and Sept. 30. Another fishery is scheduled all the way from Bonneville downstream to the mouth of the river from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday.
The expected catch is 3,000 to 4,000 chinook, 15,000 coho and 1,600 white sturgeon.
