ISSAQUAH, Wash. — Drug enforcement agents say they have seized more than 25,000 marijuana plants with an estimated street value of more than $5 million from an outdoor growing operation on Taylor Mountain, near Tiger Mountain east of Issaquah.

Officers with the Eastside Narcotics Task Force moved in Wednesday to seize the plants growing on the tree-covered slopes near State Highway 18 in east King County. Officers found evidence that two to four people had camped nearby, tending the plants. The camp was empty at the time of the raid and no arrests have been made.

Task force spokeswoman Officer Carla Iafrate says task force members flying over the area in the King County sheriff's helicopter spotted the grow areas.

Similar outdoor growing operations have been found throughout the state — mostly in remote areas of Eastern Washington.
