PORT TOWNSEND, Wash. — Someone walking on a beach near Port Townsend found a brick of what turned out to be military C-4 plastic explosive.

State Patrol Trooper Krista Hedstrom told The Peninsula Daily News a bomb squad safely recovered the explosive Monday.

Port Townsend Sgt. Ed Green says the brick had a serial code that may allow investigators to track where it originated.
