KENNEWICK, Wash. — Sarah Palin is planning a book signing in Richland when she visits relatives here for Thanksgiving.
The former Alaska governor and vice presidential candidate has posted the Nov. 30 event on her Facebook page. It says the signing will be in Richland at a place yet to named.
She plans to be signing copies of her book, Going Rogue, in Orlando, Florida, on Nov. 24, according to the schedule on the social networking site. Her next signing date is in Richland, followed by Phoenix, Ariz., on Dec. 1.
This week, Palin told Oprah Winfrey on her talk show that despite her criticism of her grandchild’s father, Levi Johnston, he was welcome to join the family for Thanksgiving dinner at “Aunt Katie’s house.”
Katie Johnson, Palin’s mother’s sister, lives in Richland.
Palin’s grandparents Clem and Helen Sheeran came to Richland in 1943 so he could work at the Hanford nuclear reservation. They had six children, including Palin’s mother, Sally Heath, who graduated from Columbia High School, which is now Richland High. Palin’s father, Chuck Heath, attended Columbia Basin College in Pasco.
Palin was John McCain’s running mate in the last presidential election and has been touring the country promoting her new book. Family members have been asked not to talk about Palin’s Thanksgiving plans.
Palin’s Facebook post from 7:35 p.m. last night says:
“I’m looking forward to seeing everyone in every stop on the tour, but I’m especially looking forward to meeting our brave men and women in uniform at Fort Hood.
I’m joining the efforts of many others by donating my royalties from the book sales during our stop at Fort Hood to the families of the victims whose lives have been forever changed by the tragic events of November 5th.
I am humbled to be able to join the larger effort called ”Community Response to 11/5,“ which was established by the Central Texas-Fort Hood Chapter of the Association of the US Army (AUSA). You can read more about their great efforts here: http://www.forthoodausa.org/.
As I mentioned last week, I’m going back on Twitter, so you can follow our path on SarahPalinUSA. Below are dates, times, and locations of the venues that I’ll be referencing.
Some other stops are still to be determined. Please contact each venue for more information. I’ll see you soon!”
