Two men with handguns entered the Fibre Federal Credit Union Branch in Woodland on Tuesday morning, ordered people to the floor and then made off with an undisclosed amount of money, Woodland police said.

One employee was assaulted but was not injured, police said.

The suspects’s car — a white, four-door sedan stolen from Portland on Monday — was found abandoned a few blocks from the bank Tuesday afternoon, according to Woodland Police. Officials say the suspects must have left on foot from that location or switched to another vehicle, according to a press release.

Police received the 911 call from the credit union at 10:51 a.m. The robbers were inside the bank for about one or two minutes, and ransacked cash drawers before leaving, police said.

About six or seven workers were in the branch at the time, but no credit union members were there, said Larry Hoff, president of the Longview-based credit union.

He said the event was “ultra-traumatic” for employees but he was grateful no one was hurt, he said.

The suspects, who both were disguised with wigs and beards, left in a white two-tone older model four-door sedan. The direction of travel from the abandoned car was not known Tuesday afternoon.

The suspects are described as:

• An olive-skinned man about 5-foot-8, stocky, wearing a green jacket with a black shirt or vest beneath, a yellow shirt, a dreadlocks-style wig and false facial hair, orange stocking cap, and black pants, gloves and shoes.

• A black man, 6 feet tall, wearing an Afro-style wig and false facial hair, blue jeans, a black hooded sweatshirt, black and white tennis shoes and sunglasses.

Police emphasize that the pair are considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached or contacted.

Anyone with information about the robbers or the suspect vehicle should contact the nearest police agency. Calls may also be made to the FBI or the Woodland Police Department at (360) 225-6965 or (360) 225-8981, which is a 24-hour number. Refer to Woodland Police case number 09-2069.
