Galleries offer many activities for First Thursday

Next week’s First Thursday will have several gallery-related activities.

They’ll all occur on Dec. 3.

• Broadway Gallery, 1418 Commerce, Longview. The Lower Columbia Wood Carvers will be the featured artists. A reception will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. with live music by Dave Mongeau, Dian Norman and John Kramer.

In the Longview Public Library’s Koth Gallery, The Ladies of the Lake Quilt Guild Holiday Exhibit will run Dec. 3-Jan. 6. The library will be open until 8 p.m. Dec. 3.

• The LCC Gallery at the Rose Center will be open until 7 p.m. that day. It’s showing “College Archive Exhibit: A Legacy of Learning” through Dec. 15.

• At Museo at the Merk, Mitzi Christensen will be the featured artist and Linda McCord will give free children’s art classes with watercolor pencil and pen and ink from 5 to 7 p.m. John Henry will play music.

• Teague’s Interiors Mezzanine Gallery at 1267 Commerce Ave. is featuring “Celebrating the Trinity,” a juried show of works of faith. It will be open until 7 p.m.

• Totally Crazed Ceramic and Fused Glass Studio in the Triangle Mall will have a reception from 5 to 7 p.m.

• The Bistro at 1329 Commerce Ave. is featuring paintings by Leon Lowman. It will have a wine tasting featuring Folie a Deux Winery and music by The Vegas Brothers from 5 to 8 p.m. Reservations are recommended.

• At the Cowlitz County Historical Museum, Vicki Selander will talk about her new book about Castle Rock’s history and its early role in our county at 7 p.m.
