Democratic Party activists will be going door-to-door in the local area Saturday to drum up support for President Barack Obama’s health care reform effort.
Organizing for America (OFA) and Health Care for America Now (HCAN) will canvas neighborhoods around the state. OFA is the president’s former campaign organization.
OFA is working to engage and encourage Washingtonians to have conversations with their families, friends and neighbors about reforming America’s health care system, according to a press release issued Thursday. In addition, OFA volunteers will collect personal health care stories and will ask people to call members of Congress.
“Organizing for America volunteers will be going door-to-door across Washington to build local support and get out the facts about health insurance reform,” according to Dustin Lambro, OFA Washington director. “From Spokane to Bellingham, we’ll be asking folks to sign on in support of the President’s core principles for reform, and to make their voices heard in this debate.”
