A Columbia River gillnet season scheduled for 8 p.m. Thursday through 6 a.m. Friday has been rescinded.
Washington and Oregon fish biologists said the commercial fleet has already caught more of its allocation than had been planned for August. The gillnet chinook catch for August is estimated at 23,800.
Mainstem commercial fisheries will resume in mid-September.
