Parents of students who attend Coweeman and Huntington middle schools and Kelso High School can learn about the Kelso School District’s sexual health and HIV/AIDS curriculum at 6 p.m. Thursday in the high school library.
The Kelso School Board adopted Washington state guidelines for sexual health information that will be presented to sixth- through 12-grade students during science, health, social studies or biology classes this school year.
In accordance with the AIDS Omnibus Act, parents who want to excuse their child from AIDS education are required to preview the HIV/AIDS curriculum.
Parents will be able to ask questions regarding the materials and topics. For more information, contact Kelso High School family health teacher Pansy Nofziger at (360) 501-1860.
