County to distribute doses of seasonal flu vaccine today

The Cowlitz County Health Department has about 100 doses of seasonal flu vaccine remaining and will dole them out from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays until supplies are exhausted. Health officials are targeting high-risk individuals for the remaining vaccines.
They include:
• Children 6 months to 19 years
• Adults 50 and older
• Pregnant women
• Residents of nursing homes and long-term care facilities
• Individuals with chronic medical conditions, such as asthma, diabetes, emphysema and certain blood or neuromuscular disorders.
There is a $10 fee.
The health department will not receive any more seasonal flu vaccinations for adults. For seasonal flu vaccinations for children, it is recommended you contact your pediatrician.
The health department is located at 1952 Ninth Ave., Longview.
