SEATTLE — The Seattle Mariners have filed a formal objection with the city against plans for a strip club to open within 400 feet of Safeco Field.
The team says that would violate a law that bans strip clubs within 800 feet of a park.
A lawyer for Deja Vu club developer Roger Forbes says the law applies to public parks not ballparks.
The lawyer, Peter Buck, says the city has already approved adult entertainment for the location, 1530 First Ave. S.
The Seattle Times says if approved it would be the second new strip club to open in Seattle since June of last year when a federal judge ended a 17-year moratorium.
