A Longview woman declared missing Friday has been found safe in a Las Vegas hotel with a friend, Longview police said Monday.
Patricia A. Wallis, 76, has early-stage dementia and Alzheimer’s disease but is considered high functioning and able to get around on her own. According to a police report, Wallis told employees at her residence of Westside Terrace on Thursday she was packing her bags to go to Hawaii with a male friend. The manager of Rodeway Inn told police he gave Wallis and her friend, Raymond Dinnan, a ride to the Portland airport Thursday.
Wallis’ court-appointed guardian learned of her disappearance Friday and called police. Las Vegas police are aware of the situation and have contacted Wallis, and her guardian has spoken with her by phone. However, there is no legal basis to take her into custody, Longview police said.
