Public invited to comment today on Longview’s image, brand

The latest in a series of meetings to gather public comment about improving Longview’s image takes place this morning.
The Community Assessment Task Force will meet at 9:30 a.m. at the McClelland Arts Center.
The task force, a collaboration of the city of Longview and the Kelso Longview Chamber of Commerce, is gathering citizens’ opinions to determine which suggestions from Destination Development branding consultant’s report the city should carry out. At the end of this year, the task force will present an action plan to the Longview City Council.
Here is the schedule for the remainder of the task force meetings:
- 7 p.m. Tuesday,Cascade Middle School
- 7 p.m. Oct. 7,St. Helens Elementary
- 9:30 a.m. Oct. 18,R.A. Long High School
- 7 p.m. Oct. 21, Mark Morris High School.
The task force is comprised of 31 people representing Longview’s business owners, schools, government, neighborhoods, tourist industry, arts, recreation and history.
