PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) — Washington State quarterback Gary Rogers is out for the season.
School officials say he suffered a “stable cervical spine fracture” at Saturday’s game. Rogers was taken away in an ambulance during the third quarter after suffering a neck injury.
The fifth-year senior was playing because starting quarterback Kevin Lopina is recovering from a right shoulder injury.
The team says his expected recovery time is three to four months.
Despite Rogers injury, Washington State went on to defeat Portland State 48-9 Saturday. It was the Cougars first win of the season following a 0-3 start.
