KNAPPA, Ore. (AP) — Vandals have broken every window in Knappa High School in northwest Oregon.
The district has closed the high school, and the adjacent elementary school — the only schools in the district.
Superintendent Rick Pass says someone using the track at the distinct near Astoria heard glass breaking at about 3 a.m. Monday.
He says more than 100 double-pane windows were smashed, and the vandals left behind graffiti.
Pass says he closed the elementary school, too, so the pupils would not be exposed to profanity.
He says the weather is good, so schools may be open on Tuesday even if the glass hasn’t been replaced.
