Thunderbirds topple Lady Devils, 3-1

E-mail this articleMIDWAY, Wash. — Lower Columbia College managed one first-half goal as the Lady Devils dropped a 3-1 decision to Highline in NWAACC Western Division women’s soccer on Thursday.
“We missed a penalty kick in the first half and we hit the crossbar on a couple of goal attempts,” LCC coach Steve Taylor said. “It was a tale of the first half against the second half, and two late goals by them (the Thunderbirds) put us out of it.”
Zury Romero scored off an assist from Stacie Wishard in the 26th minute to tie the match at 1-1. Highline countered with second-half goals in the 61st and 82nd minutes for the victory.
LCC (1-4, 0-2 league) entertains Everett at Northlake Field on Saturday.
