Weyerhaueser Co. is scheduled to receive a natural gas odorant Friday at its pipeline metering station on McGeary Road near Lexington, which could cause an odd smell, company spokesman Anthony Chavez said Thursday.
Depending on wind and weather, the smell could get into the air and be noticed by residents in the Ostrander Road area, Chavez said. The chemical, which is not harmful, is used to give natural gas an odor and thus make leaks detectable.
Chavez said he doesn’t know what time the truck will arrive in Cowlitz County from British Columbia.
