Furniture tumbling off a truck led to a two-vehicle accident late Saturday night on Interstate 5 near Kalama. No one was seriously hurt.
According to the Washington State Patrol, Baatseba Kolditz, 33, of Cathlamet was driving north on I-5 in a 2007 Toyota Tundra with a chair and ottoman in the bed.
Shortly before 11:30 p.m., the furniture fell out of the truck bed near milepost 30.
Yu-Lung Cheng, 28, of Shoreline, Wash., driving a 2007 Toyota Scion, swerved to miss the chair. He struck the jersey barrier, spun out of control and came to rest blocking two lanes.
Cheng suffered lower back pain, and his female passenger had a cut on her left knee, the state patrol said. Both declined aid. Troopers issued Kolditz a citation for failure to secure his load.
