TACOMA — A cancer patient unable to defend himself is hospitalized after he was assaulted and apparently fed on by dogs in his home in Parkland, near Tacoma.
Pierce County sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer says the man’s daughter and another woman were arrested on Sunday, but no charges were immediately filed, pending further investigation. Troyer says the women were apparently unofficial caretakers for the man and dogs.
About 20 dogs were taken from the home on Saturday. The 55-year-old man had been dropped off Friday at Tacoma General Hospital, where doctors discovered injuries indicating the dogs had eaten parts of him.
Troyer says the dogs apparently did not attack the man, but took advantage of his incapacity to use him as a food source.
The man was in critical condition. His name, the women’s IDs and details about who owned the dogs were not immediately available.

Instead of removing the dogs from the home, I think that they should have locked the two women in the house with the 20 dogs. I just don't understand why people have animals and then don't take care of them. I hope they get the full extent of the law. As for the elderly gentleman, I wish him the best. And thats the way I feel! "
