E-mail this articleFive candidates for Cowlitz County’s District 1 commissioner seat discussed crime and economic development with The Daily News editorial board Thursday, July 24.
The candidates, Democratic incumbent Kathleen Johnson of Kelso, Democrat Todd McDaniel of Kelso, Republican Tom Wilson of Woodland and Democrat Steve Madsen, of Cougar, will face off in the Aug. 19 primary.
Independent Blayden Wall announced at the end of the meeting that he is dropping out of the race because he is being deployed to Iraq with the National Guard. (See related story.)
