The new Art Gallery at Lower Columbia College will open a special Connecting Waters exhibit on Monday in the new Rose Center for the Arts. The exhibit will feature works from more than 30 artists who showed their work in previous Connecting Waters juried exhibitions, held in 1997, 1999 and 2001.
Connecting Waters demonstrates the diversity of the art and crafts of the Lower Columbia region. The featured artists use a variety of media, including fiber, collage, ceramics, painting, photography, pastels and mixed media.
The public is invited to meet the artists and view their work during an opening reception from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday. The exhibit continues June 30–Aug. 26 in the new gallery, which is open this summer 10 a.m.–6 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays.
