Longview’s second Cultural Diversity Celebration March will begin 9 a.m. Saturday at the Lower Columbia College parking lot on Maple Street.
Organizers said they wanted to follow up a December march — aimed at protesting a small white supremacist rally in the city — with a regular event to show the community values its diversity.
Saturday’s event is in conjunction with the Ethnic Support Council’s International Festival, which begins at 10 a.m. in the LCC student Center.
From the LCC Maple Street Parking lot, marchers will walk westward on Olympia Way, then turn back east on Ocean Beach Highway and return to the LCC Student Center along 15th Avenue.
Banners are encouraged, organizers said, and some will be provided. Marchers are expected to stay on sidewalks.
