Four of the six Rainier School Board members facing a May 27 recall ballot met with The Daily News staff on Tuesday, May 6, to discuss issues that led to the recall effort.
Board members Dale Archibald, Bill Scholten, Penny Blahm and Rod Harding were present, as were Daily News Editor Cal FitzSimmons, Opinion Editor Jim Bross and reporter Barbara LaBoe.
Citizens behind the recall effort and the two other board members facing recall — Scott Schuff and Chad Womack — were unable to attend the meeting.
The following is a complete audio recording of the meeting that has been divided into three parts. Once you've launched an audio file, you may need to pause the file for a few minutes to allow it to buffer.

I also think the recall supporters weakened their position by not having one person show up to represent their side. Then again, without them it created no opportunity for fireworks and the board was able to state what they needed to...however, they just didn't do a good job of it.
Things are getting ugly in Rainier, let's just recall the board already and get on with our lives. Let's start from scratch, apologize to our kids and the community and move on. "
