Was your college roommate Alec Baldwin?

Did you used to work at a restaurant with Cindy McCain?

If you’re in some way connected to someone famous, tell us about it.

The Daily News is planning a story called “Fame by Association,” in which people from our area explain their connection to someone notable.

For example, there’s a Longview man who is the uncle of the governor of Alaska. That’s fame by association.

We’re just looking to have some fun by connecting some dots from us to the famous.

If you’re dog’s groomer once was a neighbor of Alan Alda, that’s a bit of stretch, but tell us anyway.

Contact reporter Amy M.E. Fischer at 577-2532 or e-mail her at afischer@tdn.com to tell your story.

" My mom's cousin plays professional baseball for the Reds. I used to work as a Blazer booster back in the day. Used to hang out in the locker room with Drexler, Porter, Robinson, Duckworth, Kersey, etc, etc. I also met Jack Niklaus and Arnold Palmer at the old Fred Myer Challenge. That's about it. "

" Come on, people. Don't be embarassed... pick up the phone. I've gotten some interesting calls today about this. Why not add your story to the list? "

" Who's Cindy McCain? I'm only a shirt tail relation to the "infamous" from the police blotter. Honest. "

" I said hi to Spencer Hawes last year. And I held a door for Jake Locker. I have a picture of me with Tyrone Willingham. Lorenzo Romar gave us a personal tour of the men's locker room. I talked to Shaun Alexander at a UW basketball game. And I yelled across the court to Kevin Durant at that same game. Yeah, that's about it. "
