" 21-4 record and undefeated in league and district and CR loses out on the second day. This team had the talent to play for four days in the state tourney and should have brought home a trophy. I think it's about time to start rethinking the coaching situation.

" Last game was hard fought and could have gone either way in the last minute. Great season Rockets and a job well-done to the coaching staff. You gave us a lot of great games to watch this year and represented the school and community with class! "

" Were you at the Tournament? Do you truly believe Castle Rock had better talent than Brewster? Listen, we're all disappointed the team didn't do better in Yakima but they had a great season. Don't take that away from them. I'll repeat what I said yesterday: the coaching staff did not miss a single lay-in or free throw nor did they commit a single turnover. I'll also repeat my challenge: the next time a coaching job opens in the area YOU apply for it.

Congrat's to the Rockets and the coaching staff. Great job again this year. You were fun to watch and you represented our community well. "

" First of all, I never said they were better than Brewster I said they had the talent to play for four days and bring home a trophy. Nice misquote there. And second, do you mean the Brewster that is 17-11 on the season, placed 4th in their district, and lost the very next game after beating CR. Yeah, maybe CR is better and should have beaten them. How many teams do you think go undefeated in the league and district and don't win a game at state. Even Toledo who placed 3rd in our district and only won 14 games on all season won one game at state. "

" re: CR out in two
You are a real credit to the community, a real pillar of strength for the program. Please enlighten us all with ALL your infamous knowledge of the game, what you would of done so diffrently to make shots fall and and shut down a Brewster team that shot 62% from the feild. What I saw was the Rock getting the shots they wanted throughout the game. The same shots that fell for them all season long. The same shots that had the rest of the state believing Castle Rock to indeed be a team of destiny and an elite team. I also heard the Brewster fans say that was by far the best outing they had all year.
Toutle Lake was two and out last year and I don't recall anyone questioning their coaching decisions. I believe that the Rock is the winningest program in the league the last four years..hence good job coaches!
So maybe instead of belly-achin about the coulda, woulda and shoulda's perhaps a complimentry "good season" would go alot farther towards validating a great season built from great effort and great play. "

" dear: cr out in two, I believe most likely all sixteen teams believe they were good enough to play on Saturday! But you know what, only eight do. Besides having a really good team, you have to get a few breaks, your best players need to have it going, and you just flat out have to have a bit of luck. Then there are nerves, matchups, refs, expierience or lack there of, along with about 10 other things.
Now tell us how many state basketball games you played in or coached in and how many you won. Unless I miss my guess the answer is probably somewhere around....zero!!! So maybe you should keep your opinions to yourself, because rocket fans are tired of hearing your slanderous remarks...good day! "

Re: CR out in 2? Again! wrote on Feb 29, 2008 4:42 PM:

" Ok, sorry for the misquote. I thought you were implying that CR was better than Brewster. I know Brewster's record wasn't as good as the Rocket's but they were good, darn good. I was at the tournament and they were more athletic and were better basketball players than the Rockets. I realize that is a matter of opinion and could be argued all day. I guess one telling fact will come when the tournament is over and we see if Brewster and Cedar Park trophy and, if so, how high they place. I have to agree with the people who are coming on here and saying let's celebrate the success the team did have. It was a tremendous, fun season and the players and coaches deserve all the kudos we can give them. You know, over the years a number of coaches have left CR because they got tired of all the back stabbing and negativity. Coach Johnson has worked hard to bring the program back up to a high level and the team has had a good deal of success with him at the helm. Let's not have another coach leave because he is tired of the garbage. "
