Ocean Park man hit by car, dies in Long Beach

E-mail this articleAn Ocean Park man was killed Thursday when he stepped into the path of a van 12.7 miles north of Long Beach.
Donald G. Sill, 85, died shortly before 7 p.m. at Legacy Emanuel Hospital in Portland, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Troopers said Bruce C. Almberg, 43, of Long Beach was southbound on G Street as Sill, who was facing south, was walking his dog on the side of the road. As Almberg's 1994 Ford Van approached Sill's position, Sill suddenly moved left into the lane of travel and was struck by the right front portion of the van, troopers said.
Almberg was not injured.
Charges are pending the outcome of the investigation, the state patrol said.
