Global warming hype

Much has been written and spoken recently on the global warming issue. If one relies solely on the information being presented, there is little wonder why it is believed there is a real consensus on it. This "consensus" is now being presented widely as "science," which it certainly is not. In the scientific world, such a claim in any other field would be considered trash. Consensus simply does not equal science, particularly when a huge portion of available data has been ignored.
At the UN Climate Change Conference in Bali any scientist with input that does not agree with the popular point of view is not welcome. Bjorn Lomborg, a Danish scientist recently wrote the book, "Cool It," in which he lists many positive results from global warming. He is now under attack by those who oppose his thinking, calling him "Hitler" and other despicable names. This kind of diversity comes right out of Saul Alinsky's playbook where he recommends, "If you can't support your points with facts, attack the character of your opponent." This approach worked down in Oregon, as well. When George Taylor, the state climatologist was stating some factual data that Gov. Ted Kulongowski didn't agree with, Taylor was sent packing.
A nagging question in my mind is, Why hand this issue off to governments for a solution when they can't even deal with a simple problem? Allowing the UN to deal with it is even worse. The UN took years to just define the term "terrorism." How would anyone expect them to deal with this issue? Having not solved a real problem in more than 50 years, if they were assigned to come up with a solution in the next two decades they probably wouldn't make it. By that time the predicted disasters will have eliminated most of the people anyway.
When I began looking for the money connection to this issue years ago, the only obvious links were to the many "government-sponsored grants" available to scientists wishing to feather their own nest. Some of those now publishing books on the warming theory were the same ones who just three decades ago published books on "The Coming of the Next Ice Age."
Now, much more lucrative connections are coming to light. General Electric has positioned itself in the marketplace with many products that will be very much in demand as soon as our congress passes the necessary laws requiring them. It was also a surprise to find that GE spends more on lobbyists than all of the oil companies combined, so they are nearly assured of having the desired legislation passed. Isn't it strange that the media does not make this known to the folks like they would they do for the oil companies?
It was also learned that before Bill Clinton left office he established the "Clinton Global Initiative," which collected more than $3 billion to be used for the global warming research. It would be interesting to know how much of this money is now in Al Gore's bank account.
