The Longview man who recently organized a white supremacist rally at the McClelland Arts Center was arrested Thursday at the airport in Tucson, Ariz., on two warrants, according to Washington Department of Corrections officials.
Zach Beck, 28, is being held at the Pima County Jail in Tucson pending extradition proceedings to bring him back to Washington, DOC supervisor Kevin Rentner said Friday.
A bench warrant was issued for Beck in late November for failing to appear in Cowlitz County Superior Court regarding a felony cocaine possession charge. Beck also had a DOC warrant for several probation violations, including failing to report, Rentner said.
Beck caused a stir in Longview when he rented a city-owned building to hold a Neo-Nazi recruitment rally Dec. 9, prompting hundreds of outraged citizens to march through town to show their support for racial and cultural diversity in the community.
Beck, who was on the lam by then, did not attend the rally, which was held in his absence by others affiliated with the Aryan Nations.
