One person was injured in a four-car freeway pileup near Castle Rock on Sunday afternoon that Washington State Patrol troopers say was caused by following too closely and driving too fast for conditions.
Shey-Rima LeGrande, 26, of Newberg, Ore., complained of neck and chest pain, according to the state patrol's press memo. The memo indicated she was taken to St. John Medical Center, but the hospital does not show a record of her being treated there.
According to the state patrol, Natalie Perry, 19, of Hillsboro, Ore., was driving her 1996 Toyota Camry north on Interstate 5 in heavy traffic when she rear-ended a 2003 Nissan Maxima driven by Lana Hirschfield, 52, of Port Angeles, Wash. After the impact, Perry moved over one lane, causing LeGrande's 2004 Dodge Dakota to rear-end Hirschfield's Maxima, the state patrol said. Diane Lange, 46, of Everett, driving a 2003 Chevrolet Blazer, then rear-ended LeGrande's vehicle, the state patrol said.
The Maxima had $7,500 damage and the Dakota was totaled, but the other cars were driven from the scene, the state patrol said.
Perry was cited with following too closely, and LeGrande and Lange were cited with driving too fast for conditions, the state patrol said.
