Kelso police are trying to find the person who fired a BB pellet through the window of an Amtrak locomotive Thursday afternoon.
No passengers or crew were injured by the pellet, which was fired from the east side of the southbound train shortly before 5 p.m. as the train was leaving the Kelso depot, according to Vernae Graham, Amtrak spokesperson. The train was not delayed.
The pellet shattered the fireman's window of the locomotive. The window is made of safety glass, Graham said.
An Amtrak engineer called Burlington Northern Santa Fe police, who in turn called Cowlitz County dispatchers.
Passengers said they saw a white or beige truck occupied by two men and a woman who were shooting at the train.
Kelso police checked the Kelso city limits between the depot and the airport but were unable to find the suspects or vehicle.
