Clippers edge Trail Blazers

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Elton Brand scored 20 points and Corey Maggette added 18 to help the Los Angeles Clippers beat the Portland Trail Blazers 97-89 in an exhibition game Wednesday night.
Sam Cassell, Shaun Livingston and Cuttino Mobley added 15 points apiece for the Clippers, with Livingston had 10 assists.
Cassell played his second game of the preseason after missing the previous five because of a strained left calf. He played 23 minutes and added six assists and one steal.
Zach Randolph scored a preseason-high 33 points, including 15-of-16 free throws. He added seven rebounds and three steals.
Stephen Graham scored 15 points in his first game for Portland since being claimed off waivers from Cleveland on Tuesday. Brandon Roy added 14 points and eight assists.
The Trail Blazers, who trailed by as many as 16 points, tied the game at 83 with 4:54 left in the game and were behind 91-89 with 1:27 left.
But Livingston led a 6-0 surge in the final 1:08 with four points and a steal.
