Log truck accident near Rainier leaves one person dead

E-mail this articleA fatal crash involving a log truck occurred on Apiary Road southwest of Rainier Tuesday afternoon, but details of the crash still were unavailable Wednesday.
The one-vehicle crash near the intersection with Van Natta Road was reported at 2:23 p.m. and took the life of the driver, according to the Columbia County Sheriff's office. A cause had not been established as of Wednesday evening.
The name of the victim was not released pending notification of his family, according to the sheriff's office. Other details were unavailable.
