TDN Picks: Kelso dancing, Portland art and midnight vampire slaying

Dancing and potluck Saturday afternoon: Break out your casserole dish and crash the scene at the Merry Mixers Dance Club. The public is welcome for eating and dancing from noon to 3 p.m. at Catlin Grange Hall, 205 Shawnee St. in North Kelso. $2.
Labor day freebies in Portland: Things are quiet in Cowlitz County for the holiday, so take a day trip to PDX and enjoy the free admission Monday at the Portland Art Museum. The current feature is 35 paintings from Brescia, Italy, between the Renaissance and 18th century. 1219 S.W. Park Ave. 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Public Buffy, Monday night: Then, camp the weekend to a close at Portland's Mission Theater, 1624 N.W. Glisan, with free showings of three episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Episodes 40 to 42 run back-to-back, 10 p.m. to midnight. Food and drink served.
