Late ballot returns Thursday narrowly saved the Kelso School District's maintenance and operations levy, which appeared to be failing earlier this week.
The four-year levy garnered 60.7 percent approval in unofficial results Thursday, giving the district barely enough votes to meet the 60 percent supermajority needed to pass.
If 43 votes had swung the other way, the levy would be failing.
Thursday's results tallied an additional 3,179 ballots for the March 14 election, which also included school measures in Longview, Woodland and Kalama. Those measures continued to maintain passage Thursday. The election results will be certified March 24.
