Barlow named 'Super Lawyer'

John A. Barlow of Walstead Mertsching has been named a Washington Super Lawyer for 2004 and is listed in the August/September 2004 issue of Washington Law & Politics magazine.
Barlow was among the top 5 percent of lawyers voted for by more than 20,000 attorneys across the state as the best lawyer they had personally observed in action.
He has been named a Super Lawyer every year since the program started seven years ago, and he is the only personal injury attorney in the Clark, Cowlitz and Lewis County area to receive this honor, according to a press release.
Robert A. Chace of Chace & Spurgeon, PS of Longview has been awarded the Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) credential by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
To earn the credential Chace had to hold a valid CPA certificate, provide evidence of substantial experience and continuing education in business valuation, and pass a written exam. Now that he has the credential, he must recertify every three years.
The ABV credential was established in 1996 by the AICPA. Since its inception, 1,505 CPAs have earned it, according to a press release.
The AICPA is the national professional association of CPAs with more than 328,000 members in public practice, business and industry, government and education.
Michael Lee Reynolds retired Sept. 1 from Longview Fibre Co. after 18 years of service. He was a market pulp trucker in the machine room. Dave Van Curen will retire from Fibre on Oct. 1 after 31 years of service. Van Curen is a shift journeyman A pipefitter in the mechanical department.
Kelso native Steve Lane has been named sales manager for homebuilder D.R. Horton's Portland office.
In his new position, Lane will oversee the firm's 25 person sales force at its neighborhoods in Oregon and Southwest Washington, according to Bruce Dunlap, the firm's marketing vice president.
For the past two years Lane has been a Realtor at the Horton projects. He was with Quail Homes in Vancouver before joining Horton and he is a member of the Portland Metropolitan Association of Realtors and the Clark County board of Realtors.
The Lower Columbia College graduate has lived in Vancouver since 1991.
